I wrote Santa a letter the old fashion way
And dropped it in the mailbox only yesterday
I mentioned an old flame from my distant youth
To be honest I swear I told him the truth
I was a fool you see and left her blue
Yet she said to me our love is forever true
So maybe this Christmas under my tree
Santa please bring my true love back to me
When I was young I was too darn shy my nerve was weak
At a Christmas party we dance real close yes cheek to cheek
And under a mistletoe her kiss was heavenly sweet
To be honest I swear my heart skipped a beat
I was a fool you see and left her blue
Yet she said to me our love is forever true
So maybe this Christmas under my tree
Santa please bring my true love back to me
Dreams have a way at this time of year of coming true
Just maybe my love is as lonely as me and feeling blue
And maybe she is thinking of me and hoping by chance
This Christmas we’d meet again and have a sweet romance
I was a fool you see and left her blue
Yet she said to me our love is forever true
So maybe this Christmas under my tree
Santa please bring my true love back to me
I wrote Santa a letter the old fashion way
And dropped it in the mailbox only yesterday
I mentioned an old flame from my distant youth
To be honest I swear I told him the truth
I was a fool you see and left her blue
Yet she said to me our love is forever true
So maybe this Christmas under my tree
Santa please bring my true love back to me
Santa please bring my true love back to me
