Simone Gubbiotti is a jazz guitar player and composer born in Assisi, Italy. His unique story makes this recording a special and elegant event. In fact Simone switched to music at the age of 24 coming from a sport background and playing after a short period with some of the best musicians on the scene. Joe LaBarbera, Darek Oles and Sid Jacobs are only few of them but this time he's alone with his superb vision of the jazz guitar playing and arranging original songs mixed to famous standard for a great project. The elements of his style are the counterpoint, the sense of melody and the developement of harmony on guitar. This incredible cd has been recorded in only one day and it's a diamond that every fan of jazz should have. Following Simone wanted to write some short line. ESSENCE OF A PROJECT Where do you start to find the roots of a project? How do you understand what happens before and after? Well...the essence of this project is the life itself, the events, the people and the energy, things that seem to be only a coincidence, events that seem to be disconnected. Suddenly, everything becomes clear, all the black points are put together by the lines of life to form an image which is the image of this cd. This music comes from the spirit, from the energy you put in your things and from the emphaty you generate with people. Only at the end it comes the project and there is me with my guitar in the game of my work in progress. At the moment i didn't think to record a solo guitar cd, simply because i didn't feel ready but it became a professional recording and i am really proud of this. But it's life, when things happen you just live them, when you play a song you have to finish it, the train doesn't stop. So here we are telling this story. I believe everything started writing my original songs which are actually the key even before my style and my approach on the guitar. Then i added some special standard that i really love. I hope you will enjoy this special album and these special arrangements i want to dedicate to all people inspired them. Music is never only music!
