Crowded markets streets alive
Laughter echoes but I just survive
The red and green lights shine so bright
But they cant warm this cold inside
The city glows all through the night
I stop at every Christmas tree a fleeting sight
I wish it could hear my silent plea
But shadows grow smaller just leaving me
Under each tree theres a story told
Couples smile in pictures hearts of gold
I walk by fast a fleeting face
Afraid to linger afraid of space
Mom calls says Warm soup is a must
Even alone you need someone to trust
The carols play about love and cheer
But Im a wanderer lost out here
The city glows all through the night
I stop at every Christmas tree a fleeting sight
I wish it could hear my silent plea
But shadows grow smaller just leaving me
The candle burns out in the chilly breeze
I take a breath my heart unease
No tree can belong to someone like me
But Ill walk onthis night will set me free
